As you may know, there’s an alternative to mining on your own and that is cloud mining. Unfortunately, in this case, it isn’t applicable – Bytom’s algorithm does not allow for it.

Why You Should Start Mining Bytom?

Bytom has one of the most promising interactive protocols with great future potential. This project establishes bridges for Artificial Intelligence (AI) to be introduced into blockchain, which can affect the world in an incredible way. AI can benefit from the newly created Tensority algorithm and reduce the cost of resources, by using Bytom’s mining equipment. Bytom consensus is reached through a Proof-of-Work (PoW) protocol mechanism, which is ASIC compatible. That will ensure the network’s security and will enable miners to earn extra profit from verifying transactions over the network.

What’s the Best Way to Mine Bytom?

Bytom is designed to have an ASIC-friendly attitude. That brings us to the most profitable way to mine it – through specialized ASIC mining hardware. At the time of writing this article, the only available ASIC miner on the market is Bitmain’s Antminer B3. Joining a pool will increase your chances of frequent incomes even more.

You may have come across statements that the Tensority algorithm is cracked and a single GPU (1080Ti) can outperform Bitmain’s device by providing higher hash rate at lower power consumption. Stay on the safe side and mine using ASICs for now. After all, a lot of money and time are involved, don’t waste them by believing rumors.

What do You Need to Start Mining Bytom?

In the field of mining, one of the most important things are the hardware equipment and the internet connection. Low latency connections can save you from stale or rejected shares and the stability can guarantee you uninterrupted mining process without downtime. Another important thing is to create a wallet, where you will manage your assets.

In summary you need:

  • Mining Hardware like the Antminer B3
  • 24/7 Internet Access with at least 1MB/s
  • A Bytom Wallet to receive the coins
  • Enough Power Line Capacity to run your Mining Equipment

What Else to Consider Before Mining Bytom

Having in mind that Bytom is ASIC-minable, you should consider setting up appropriate cooling and ventilation, to guarantee yourself that your hardware is working safely and at peak performance. The devices’ fans produce a lot of noise, so soundproofing may be something you should take under advisement. We recommend checking out our specialized webpage Ventilation, cooling systems and noise solutions so you can benefit from our experts’ experience and ensure the best results for your mining operation.

To start mining, we would recommend joining a Bytom mining pool – this way you’ll team up with other miners. While you are going to split the reward, when a block is found by the pool, you will get regular payments. You can benefit from the fact that pool mining uses the hash rate of all participants in the pool. Additionally, rewards are obtained faster compared to solo mining.

At this point in time, Bytom isn’t available for cloud mining.

Something else to think of – your choice of wallet. Currently there is an official desktop Bytom wallet, which is available for all operating systems – Windows, Linux and Mac. You need to install it to perform operations like sending, receiving and exchanging coins.

About Bytom

Bytom aims to establish a relationship between the physical and digital world. It is a Chinese blockchain project, launched in April 2018.

The Bytom chain is used to build peer-to-peer financial applications, used by both institutions and individuals. The Proof-of-Work consensus algorithm, called Tensority is intelligent, flexible and efficient. Among the functionalities of Bytom, we observe smart contracts, atomic transfer and the oracles system. It’s an interactive protocol of multiple byte assets, which could be registered, exchanged, gambled and engaged. Bytom’s uniqueness is related to:

  • Compatibility with the UTXO Design of Bitcoin
  • General address format
  • Compatible with National Encryption Standard
  • Asset naming using ODIN
  • PoW algorithm that is friendly to ASICs
  • Cross-chain asset transactions
  • Quasi “Segregated Witness” design
  • Enhanced trading flexibility

Bytom Team

The founder and CEO of Bytom is Duan Xinxing, who’s the former vice president of OKCoin – the largest bitcoin exchange over the world. The second founder (of the 8btc) is Chang Jia, who’s been rewarded three times with the China’s Sci-fi Galaxy Award. The development department is led by a senior blockchain specialist and the CTO of Bytom and it includes many other engineers. The marketing department contains a CFO, COO, operation director, development director and development manager. There are also some PR experts, operation and media managers.

Bytom Hashing Algorithm

Compared to Bitcoin’s consensus algorithm, Bytom invented a new PoW consensus algorithm. Instead of using SHA256, a new scheme based on artificial intelligence is presented. By introducing the Tensority algorithm, Bytom has built upon the advantages of the previous BTC, LTC, and ETH algorithms and further improved them, making the workload calculation more universal and friendlier to ASICs. Devices can engage in artificial intelligence cloud acceleration services, reducing hardware waste and making computing more socially valuable.

Bytom Regulations

If we make a quick overview of the world regulations, we may conclude there are three basic groups:

  • Banned Crypto: Algeria, Bolivia, Ecuador, Bangladesh, Nepal and Macedonia
  • Illegal as a payment tool: Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand
  • All other countries and unions support the cryptocurrency concept and have some government regulations to control the newly implemented blockchain technology
